Mustangs Advance to Title Game with Overtime Win, Secure Sectional Appearance

HUNTINGDON (May 13) — Huntingdon High School hosted Cheatham County Tuesday night for a Region 6A Soccer Tournament semifinal and claimed a 3-1 win in overtime to advance to the championship game. The victory also secured a sectional appearance for the Mustangs.
After a scoreless first half, Cheatham County scored early in the second half. Huntingdon answered halfway through the period, and the score remained 1-1 at the end of regulation. The Mustangs took the lead five minutes into the 20-minute overtime and padded the lead with nine to play.
Greyson Anderson, Mateo Jorge-Perez and Kelton Johnson each scored a goal for Huntingdon. Jorge-Perez and Gage Foster each had an assist.
Goalkeeper Gage Foster had 13 saves in the win.
