NASHVILLE (December 1) — The Tennessee Sports Writers Association and USA Today Network released on Monday morning their final high school football rankings before the championship round this weekend.

In Class 1A, South Pittsburg (13-1) overtakes McKenzie (13-1) for the top spot with nine first place votes to the Rebels' six. The two teams meet Friday for the state championship.

South Pittsburg had yet to play a game when they last held the number one spot, following McKenzie's Week One loss to Huntingdon. When the Pirates also lost their first game in Week Two, the Rebels moved up and have held the top spot since.

In Class 2A, Huntingdon (13-1) claims the top spot with eight first-place votes to Marion County's (13-1) seven votes. Those two teams meet Saturday for the title. Milan (12-1) swapped places with the Mustangs (third last week) after Huntingdon's one-point semifinal win Friday night, avenging their only loss earlier in the season.

In Class 3A, Westview (13-0) remains the unanimous number one over Gatlinburg-Pittman (14-0). The two teams meet Friday for the state championship.
