Mustangs Rout Peabody, 13-1
From the Mar 31, 2026 e-EditionHUNTINGDON (March 27) — Huntingdon High School's Diamond Classic baseball tournament wrapped up Friday evening with the host Mustangs dominating the Peabody Golden Tide, 13-1.
Huntingdon set the tone with six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Peabody plated their lone run in the top of the second. The Mustangs added seven in the fourth and held the Tide scoreless in the fifth to end the game early.
Mustang Owen Kreuziger was 2-for-3 with a double, five RBIs and a run scored. Broox Bennett was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Hayes Eubanks was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Silas Sharp was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Owen Hugueley was 1-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Colt Wood was 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base. Cy Hankins was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. Braylin Dearmon was 0-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored. Caleb Ezell was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Peabody's Jonah Smith was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Caden McClellan and Banks McDaniel were each 1-for-2.
Hayden Strop earned the complete-game win for Huntingdon, allowing one unearned run on three hits while walking none and striking out seven in five innings.
Brody Reuter took the loss for the Golden Tide, allowing six earned runs on four hits while walking four and striking out one in two and a third innings. Stone Hall pitched one inning of relief, allowing four earned runs on one hit and two walks. Beau Elliot threw the final two-thirds of an inning, allowing three earned runs on four hits while walking one and striking out two.
