Mustangs Stifle Milan, Cruise to Title

HUNTINGDON (May 2) — The Huntingdon High School Mustangs clinched the District 12AA Baseball Championship Saturday afternoon with an 11-0 shutout of the Milan Bulldogs in five innings.
Following the game, the All-District and All-Tournament teams were announced.
The All-District team included Mustangs Owen Kreuziger, Braylin Dearmon, Silas Sharp, Broox Bennett, Hayes Eubanks and Caleb Ezell.
The All-Tournament team included Mustangs Caleb Ezell, Owen Kreuziger, Colt Wood and Silas Sharp.
In the title game, Huntingdon scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, five in the second and two each in the third and fourth innings.
Mustang Kenton Smith was 2-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs. Braylin Dearmon was 1-for-3 with a double, a sacrifice fly, an RBI and a run scored. Broox Bennett was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. Colt Wood was 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Owen Kreuziger was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Hayes Eubanks was 0-for-1 with two walks, three runs scored and a stolen base. Cy Hankins was 0-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Caleb Ezell was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Bulldog Cayden Cates was 1-for-1.
Owen Kreuziger earned the complete-game, one-hit shutout for Huntingdon, allowing no walks with five strikeouts.
JP Scott took the loss for Milan, allowing eight runs (four earned) on five hits while walking five and striking out one in two innings. Cayden Cates pitched the final two innings, allowing three earned runs on one hit while walking six and striking out one.
