Mustangs Sweep Camden in Home-Away Set

HUNTINGDON/CAMDEN (April 20-21) — Huntingdon High School baseball began the week with a home-away set against district foe Camden. Monday, the Mustangs dominated at home for a 10-0 win in five innings. They were just as dominant Tuesday in Camden, defeating the Lions 12-1, again in five innings.

Huntingdon Mustangs 10, Camden Lions 0

In Monday's home win, Huntingdon scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, six in the second and one in the third.

Mustang Braylin Dearmon was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Colt Wood was 1-for-1 with a triple, two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Kenton Smith was 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Hayes Eubanks was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Owen Kreuziger was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cy Hankins was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Silas Sharp was 1-for-3 with a double and a stolen base. Caleb Ezell was 1-for-3.

Lions Axel Mansfield and Hudson Barrett were each 1-for-2. Carter Maines was 0-for-1 with a walk.

Caleb Ezell earned the complete-game shutout for Huntingdon, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Ethen Ingram got the start for Camden, allowing nine runs (six earned) on seven hits while walking two and striking out four in an inning and two-thirds. Amaury Rogers threw two and a third innings of relief and took the loss, allowing one earned run on four hits while walking one and striking out one.

Mustangs 12, Lions 1

In Tuesday's road win, Huntingdon struck first with a run in the top of the second, then added four in the third and five in the fourth. Camden's lone run came in the bottom of the fourth. The Mustangs added a pair in the fifth.

Mustang Owen Kreuziger was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a stolen base. Colt Wood was 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Broox Bennett was 1-for-2 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Kenton Smith was 1-for-2 with a sacrifice fly and an RBI. Maddox Holmes was 1-for-1 with an RBI and three runs scored. Kainan Moore was 1-for-1 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Braylin Dearmon was 1-for-2 with two runs scored. Owen Hugueley was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Hayes Eubanks was 1-for-3 with a stolen base. Cy Hankins was 0-for-1 with two walks and two runs scored.

Lion Carter Maines was 1-for-2 with a home run.

Kenton Smith earned the complete-game one-hit victory for Huntingdon, allowing one earned run with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Carter Maines took the loss for Camden, allowing seven earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out six in three and a third innings. Harper French pitched the final inning and two-thirds, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out two.
