PADUCAH (formerly McKenzie, Tenn.) — Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy Carroll Moseley Strickland, 81, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of McKenzie, Tennessee, passed peacefully from this life on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 12, 1943, in McKenzie, Tennessee, to J.T. Moseley and Romie Moseley. She graduated from McKenzie High School and was honored to be crowned Miss Carroll County.
She began her career with the Tennessee State Highway Patrol before moving with her husband to Paducah, Kentucky, where she worked many years and later retired from The Paducah Sun Newspaper.
Nancy married Cecil Wayne Strickland on December 31, 1966. They were married for 59 years, and together they built a beautiful life and family filled with love, laughter, and faith. She was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church in Lone Oak and cherished time spent with her family. Nancy had a heart for family like no other. She made sure every holiday, birthday, and special occasion was celebrated together — her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the smell of her good cooking. She loved cruises with her husband, camping trips, and time spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. Nancy’s legacy of love, strength, and faith will live on in each of them. She was the heart of her family and will forever be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and the way she made everyone feel at home.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Cecil Wayne Strickland, and her loving children, Debbie (Jimmy) Boutwell, Stacey (Larry) Brooks, Amanda (Jeff) Lasley, Shawn (Laura) Strickland, Shannon (Laura) Strickland, and Ronnie (Deborah) Strickland.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Moseley and his wife Karen, of Moseley, Virginia.
Nancy was blessed with a total of 53 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Romie Moseley; her sister, Nellie Ann Hale; and her granddaughter, Kelsey Michelle, daughter of Debbie. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, sister, and granddaughter, surrounded by everlasting peace and love.
