TENNESSEE (June 17) — Neil Thompson, District Attorney General of the 24th Judicial District, has been re-elected to serve on the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference (TNDAGC) Executive Committee.
Chosen by his fellow District Attorneys General across the state, Gen. Thompson — a Henry Countian — will continue to play a crucial role in guiding the overall administration of justice in Tennessee.
“It is an honor to be chosen to serve a third term on the Executive Committee,” Gen. Thompson said. “I look forward to representing my district and continuing the fight for justice for all Tennesseans.”
Gen. Thompson has served as District Attorney General for the 24th Judicial District — which includes Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin and Henry counties — since 2022.
Prior to taking office, he built a successful private law practice in Henry County, representing clients in courts throughout the 24th Judicial District and arguing cases before the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
While attending law school, Gen. Thompson also served as a probation officer with the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole, beginning a career dedicated to the administration of justice.
“The Executive Committee plays a critical role in the decisions we make to strengthen public safety, focused on effective administration of justice across this great state,” said TNDAGC Executive Director, Stephen Crump. “I am confident General Thompson will uphold this responsibility admirably and advance our important work.”
The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference was created by the General Assembly in 1961 to provide for a more prompt and efficient administration of justice in the courts of the state. It is composed of the elected District Attorneys General from the state’s 32 judicial districts.
