Nelson Stewart

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Mr. Nelson Stewart, 79, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment was in McAuley Cemetery. 

Mr. Stewart was born December 21, 1946, in Selmer, Tennessee, to the late Ross Everett and Lucy Avis Brewer Stewart. He was a business owner and a member of the Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Buena Vista. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved woodworking and making things for his family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play and grow.  He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ross Stewart, four brothers, Elvin Stewart, Bobby Stewart, Jerrold Stewart, Tommy Stewart, and a sister, Ruby Cole.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rebecca “Becky” Stewart; a daughter, Camey Hall (Kevin) all of Huntingdon and a brother, Ricky Stewart (Darlene), of Corinth, Mississippi. He also leaves four grandchildren, Sean Kendall (Sarah Reisinger), Haley Kendall, Logan Hall, and Chris Stewart; five great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Kamdin, Landry, Korbyn, Lucy, and Michael, and beloved family dog, Milo.
