New Decorative Lighting in Downtown
From the Jul 2, 2024 e-Edition
McKENZIE — New decorative lighting is now completely installed in downtown McKenzie. Associates of Wade Electric Company installed the final lighting fixtures last week in Veterans Park. Additional lighting was placed on Broadway, Lee, and Waldren streets in downtown.
The lighting project was first proposed in 2018 and was part of the Broadway sidewalk replacement project approved during the Jill Holland administration. The new decorative lighting replaces lights installed in the 1980s during the Mayor Joe Morris’ administration when the downtown gazebo was constructed, in part, by masonry students at the McKenzie TCAT.
