McKENZIE — It was a Night to Shine, providing a night of dignity, love, and respect for the special, valued people who make up 16% of the global population, one of the largest unreached people groups in the world.
Honorees were greeted at the front door of the church as they walked the red carpet into the building. Some arrived by limousine, others by bus, or regular car.
Upon entering, they were given identification badges and lanyards, had food, and a dance area to celebrate the special occasion. The event was complete with music and special decorations.
The special night for people with special needs was Friday, February 13, 6-9 p.m. at Overflow Church in McKenzie.
Night to Shine is a worldwide celebration event (hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation) centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs. On a single night, hundreds of churches from around the world will come together for an unforgettable prom night experience for individuals with disabilities, aged 14 and up.
This event, hosted each year on the Friday before Valentine’s Day by churches across the globe, brings congregations, communities, and families living with special needs closer together in fellowship.
The Tim Tebow Foundation started Night to Shine 12 years ago as a way to reach this community with the love of Christ.
