Planned Power Outage in Atwood on Thursday
From the May 7, 2024 e-Edition
ATWOOD — A planned relocation of electrical lines in the Atwood area on Thursday, May 9 will create a temporary outage of electrical power in certain geographic areas.
According to Ryan Drewry, the general manager of Carroll County Electric Department, the event should take place between 8 a.m. and noon on Thursday.
Standard Electric will be performing an electric line relocation, as part of the Tennessee Department of Transportation road project, on Church St (S.R. 220) just south of the new four-lane. An outage will be required to perform and complete some of the necessary work involved with the electric line relocation.
The outage is anticipated to last approximately 4 hours from 8 a.m. to noon.
Carroll County Electric was able redirect electrical feeds which will maintain power to customers on Jax Rd, Barker Rd, and Glover St who would have been impacted by the outage otherwise. Approximately 100 of Carroll County Electric customers will experience an outage.
If weather conditions do not permit work to be completed on May 9, the work will be performed on May 10, with an outage from 8 a.m. to noon. Please note that this was originally scheduled for May 2 but was canceled by TDOT.
Areas impacted include: 911 addresses on Church St. (S.R. 220) less than 13600; Johnson St.; Norris Robinson Loop; Old Dairy Rd.; Smith Ln.; Sandy Branch Ln. Howse Church Rd.; McDonald Rd.; Crosset Ln.; Utley Ln.
