Postal Service Announces No Increase on First Class

WASHINGTON (January 2025) — The United States Postal Service (USPS) is not raising prices for First-Class Mail and other Market Dominant products in January 2025:

First-Class Mail
The price of a stamp to mail a 1-ounce single-piece letter will not increase.

Other Market Dominant Products
The USPS will not raise prices for these products until at least July 2025.

However, the USPS is raising shipping prices for other services, including:

USPS Ground Advantage: A 3.9% average increase.

Priority Mail: A 3.2% average increase.

Priority Mail Express: A 3.2% average increase.

Parcel Select: A 9.2% average increase.

The price increases are part of the USPS’s 10-year modernization plan, “Delivering for America”. The plan aims to make the USPS financially sustainable and capable of delivering mail and packages nationwide at least six days a week.
