LETTER: President Trump’s Budget Bill Should Be Defeated
From the May 20, 2025 e-EditionThere is a proposed Bill in the US Congress known as the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’. If approved, this Bill would reduce funding for the following: Medicaid, and SNAP, (Supplementary Nutrition Assistance Programs). According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office the bill would reduce the number of persons receiving Medicaid by 7,500,000. The bill would increase military spending by $150,000,000,000. The bill would increase the federal debt from $36,000,000,000 to $40,000,000,000. This bill would reduce the federal income tax rate for a married couple with incomes greater than $694,000 from 39.6% to 37%. This bill is IMMORAL and should be defeated.
