From the Dec 30, 2025 e-EditionGLEASON, Tenn. — Services for Ray Dean Verdell, age 89, of Gleason are on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Gleason First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Beech Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the church.
He was born May 14, 1936 and died December 28, 2025.
Mr. Verdell leaves behind his wife, Jane Verdell; a son, David (Kim) Verdell; a daughter, Dana Jowers; a brother, Billy Verdell; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Wulardean Verdell, a sister, Shelby Perritt, and a brother, Dencil Verdell.
