Rebel Cole Brown is Mr. Football Semifinalist

NASHVILLE (November 6) — Semifinalists for the 2025 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards were announced Thursday, and for the fourth time in five years, a McKenzie High School player is among the five Class 1A semifinalists.

Junior Cole Brown follows in the footsteps of recent semifinalists Tate Surber, Jackson Cassidy and Marquez Taylor. Surber and Cassidy were named Mr. Football in 2024 and 2022, respectively, and Taylor was a finalist in 2021.

Brown is a three-way player for the Rebels who took over at quarterback this year. He led the team to a 9-1 regular season record and a region championship with 2,784 total yards of offense and 44 touchdowns.

He passed for 2,125 yards and 26 touchdowns with a 74.5 percent completion rate. Brown has rushed for 659 yards and 18 touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, he has 52 tackles, including eight for a loss and two sacks.

As the team's punter, he has averaged 45.6 yards per punt.

Other semifinalists in Class 1A include Dresden's Luke Di Pietro, Coalfield's Jaiden Bunch and South Pittsburg's Ja’Mychal Buckner and DaYon Cooper.

Other area semifinalists include Milan's Jaydon Peete in 2A and Westview's Graham Simpson in 3A.

The field will be narrowed to three finalists on Tuesday, November 25, and the Mr. Football awards will be presented on Tuesday, December 9 at Nissan Stadium.
