Rebels Crush Bradford Red Devils, 20-5

McKENZIE (March 7) — McKenzie High School baseball hosted Bradford Friday and cruised to a 20-5 win in five innings behind good pitching and two home runs by KD Cunningham.

The visiting Red Devils struck first with three runs in the top of the first, but the Rebels took the lead with four in the home half. Bradford tied it with a run in the second, but McKenzie drove in six in the third. The Red Devils tacked on a run in the fourth, but McKenzie plated ten in the bottom half.

Rebel KD Cunningham was 2-for-4 with two home runs (3-run and a grand slam), eight RBIs and three runs scored. Lelan Gordon was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Cooper Davidson was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Gage Crosland was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Tate Surber was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Craegen Travis was 0-for-1 with two walks and four runs scored. Cole Brown was 0-for-1 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Maddox Shiell was 0-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Red Devil Kaden Brauer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Brodie McDaniel was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Jax Richardson was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and two stolen bases. Landon Hagan was 0-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Craegen Travis got the start for McKenzie, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits while walking four and striking out four in three and a third innings. Avery Brown threw the final inning and two-thirds, allowing no runs on one hit with no walks and two strikeouts.

Brodie McDaniel had the start for Bradford, allowing nine runs (two earned) on three hits while walking five and striking out four. Aldon Cantrell threw a third of an inning, allowing three earned runs on two hits with three walks. Landon Holland pitched the final inning, allowing eight runs (two earned) on three hits while walking three and striking out three.
