Rebels Defeat Central, 3-1

BRUCETON (April 9) — Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School hosted McKenzie Thursday for a district baseball contest. The visiting Rebels came out on top in a defensive battle, 3-1.

McKenzie struck first with a run in the top of the second inning, then added one in the fourth and one in the top of the seventh. The Tigers scored their lone run in the home half.

Rebel Xander Johnsey was 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored. Cole Brown was 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base. Parker Ross was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Fletcher Holt was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Ace Brown was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Cooper Davidson was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Tiger Parker Boyd was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Dalton Howard was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Braxton Howard was 1-for-3 with a stolen base.

Fletcher Holt earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing one earned run on three hits while walking two and striking out 11.

Drake Hollingsworth took the complete-game loss for Central, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits while walking one and striking out five.
