Rebels End Season with Game Three Loss

McKENZIE (May 15) — The McKenzie High School Rebels ended their season Thursday with a 16-4 loss to the Eagleville Eagles in the decisive Game Three of the TSSAA Class 1A Baseball Sectional Series.
McKenzie struck first with a run in the bottom of the second inning, but Eagleville pulled ahead with three in the top of the third, then added one each in the fourth and fifth. The Eagles doubled their tally with five in the sixth, and the Rebels responded with two in the home half. Eagleville continued the pressure with six in the seventh, and McKenzie scored a final run in the bottom half.
Rebel Xander Johnsey was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Fletcher Holt was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ace Brown was 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Cole Brown was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Hudson Garrett was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Parker Ross was 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored. Aiden Legens was 0-for-3 with a walk.
Eagle Carter Blair was 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Jackson Nichols was 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Sam Dodd was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. JR Duke was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Drake Rzemieniewski was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Wyatt McDougal was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brody Gleason was 1-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Adrian Sevieri was 1-for-5 with an RBI. Kelten Freeze was 1-for-5.
Drake Rzemieniewski earned the win for Eagleville, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking five and striking out six in six innings. Jacob Sweeney pitched the final frame, allowing one earned run on two hits with no walks and one strikeout.
Cooper Davidson took the loss for McKenzie, allowing 13 runs (five earned) on 14 hits while walking none and striking out two in six innings. Maddox Shiell faced four batters, allowing three earned runs on four hits and no walks. Avery Brown threw the final frame, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk with one strikeout.
