Rebels Finish Third at State Tournament

Fawcett Earns Fourth, Brown Eighth Overall

SEVIERVILLE (October 7-8) - McKenzie High School competed Monday and Tuesday in the TSSAA Class A Boys' Golf Championship at Sevierville Golf Club. The Rebels finished the season strong, earning third place as a team and two top-ten individual finishes.

As a team, McKenzie's two-day overall score of 640 was behind only runner-up Signal Mountain's 626 and champion Stewart County's 613. Rounding out the eight-team slate were Summertown (651), Cumberland Gap (697), Kingston (706), Madison Magnet (708) and Monterey (721).

A total of 62 individuals competed, including some athletes who qualified as individuals but whose teams did not.

Greyson Koch of White House Heritage was the individual leader with a two-day score of 145. Just four strokes back and tied for fourth was McKenzie's Nolan Fawcett (149).

Rebel Ace Brown finished in a tie for eighth, just seven strokes off the leader with a 152.

Ethan Bradberry's 168 was good for a tie at 34th, while Carter Kee finished 37th with a 171. Brady Allison scored 208.
