Rebels Claim Region 6A Championship

McKENZIE (May 11) — On Saturday, the Rebels faced Collinwood in the Region 6A Championship. Tate Surber pitched for McKenzie and had 13 strikeouts as the Rebels took the 7-0 win and title.
The Rebels’ first hit of the game came in the second inning when Lane Anderson hit Lelan Gordon in. McKenzie held that one point lead until the fifth inning. Cole Brown had an RBI double that brought Surber home. Hayden Garrett hit a nice ball right up third base which got Avery Brown home.
The Rebels were up 4-0 in the bottom of the sixth when Surber brought Garrett around. Brown had a two run RBI triple that got Fletcher Holt and Ace Brown home. McKenzie ended the game in the top of the seventh 7-0 and claimed the title Region Champions for the third year in a row.
