Rebels Rout Lions, 10-1
From the Apr 7, 2026 e-EditionDRESDEN (March 30) — Dresden Middle School hosted McKenzie baseball Monday, and the Rebels dominated both sides of the ball for a 10-1 road win.
McKenzie scored two runs in the top of the first, three in the second and five in the top of the fourth. Dresden's lone run came in the home half of the fourth.
Rebel Seth Stafford was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jackson Barden was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases. Dierks Ghyers was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base. Jake Ghyers was 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. Lane Brown was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Reed Gaskins was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. Leighem Broyles was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Rex Thompson was 0-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Lawson Ownby was 0-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Lion Will Forrester was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Izalin Hodges was 1-for-2. John Robert Jolley was 0-for-1 with a walk and an RBI.
Lane Brown earned the win for McKenzie, allowing no runs or hits while walking three and striking out five in three innings. Mason Davidson pitched the final two innings, allowing one earned run on two hits while walking two and striking out three.
Josh Peterson took the loss for Dresden, allowing five runs (two earned) on one hit while walking two and striking out two in one inning. John Robert Jolley pitched the final four frames, allowing five runs (four earned) on ten hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

McKENZIE (July 31) — McKenzie High School hosted Obion County Central Friday evening for an all-Rebel scrimmage at the MHS practice field. The host Rebels looked strong on both sides of the ball, especially during the varsity portion of the contest.
