Rebels Still Number One as Semifinals Loom
From the Nov 25, 2025 e-EditionNASHVILLE (November 24) — The Tennessee Sports Writers Association and USA Today Network announced football rankings Monday morning following the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs.
In Class 1A, McKenzie (12-1) retains the top spot over South Pittsburg (12-1). The Rebels earned ten first-place votes to the Pirates' six as South Pitt won their quarterfinal by a large margin while McKenzie advanced on a last-minute field goal. The other two teams still alive in 1A are number three Coalfield (11-2, hosting South Pitt) and number four Fayetteville (7-5, travelling to McKenzie). Dresden (9-3) and South Fulton (9-3), each eliminated in the second round, remain ninth and tenth, respectively.
In Class 2A, Milan (12-0) holds on to the number one spot with a unanimous 16 votes over Marion County (12-1). Huntingdon (12-1) sits at number three and will travel to Milan, while Eagleton (10-3) is fourth and will host Marion County.
In Class 3A, Westview (12-0) is the unanimous number one (16 votes) over Gatlinburg-Pittman (13-0). Third-ranked Tyner Academy (12-1) travels to Gatlinburg-Pittman, while fourth-ranked Covington (12-1) goes to Westview.
