Rebels Sweep Clarksburg in Home-Away Set
From the Apr 28, 2026 e-EditionMcKENZIE/CLARKSBURG (April 20-21) — McKenzie and Clarksburg high school baseball started the week with a home-away district set. McKenzie earned a sweep, winning Monday at home, 13-0, and Tuesday on the road, 6-1.
McKenzie Rebels 13, Clarksburg Rockets 0
In Monday's five-inning home shutout, McKenzie scored six runs in the bottom of the first, six in the third and a final run in the fourth.
Rebel Cole Brown was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, three RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Parker Ross was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Xander Johnsey was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base. Fletcher Holt was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Aiden Legens was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Hudson Garrett was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Maddox Shiell was 0-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored. Ace Brown was 0-for-2 with an RBI. Lelan Gordon was 0-for-2 with a walk.
Rocket Greysen Jones was 0-for-1 with a walk.
Xander Johnsey threw the no-hitter for McKenzie, walking one and striking out eight.
Taylor Lawler took the loss for Clarksburg, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on five hits while walking four and striking out one in two innings. Jayden Reed pitched two innings of relief, allowing five earned runs on seven hits while walking none and striking out three.

Clarksburg struck first at home on Tuesday with a run in the bottom of the first. McKenzie tied it in the top of the third, then took the lead with a run in the fourth and added four in the fifth.
Rebel Aiden Legens was 1-for-4 with a home run, five RBIs and one run scored. Maddox Shiell was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Cole Brown was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Parker Ross was 1-for-3. Lelan Gordon was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.
Rocket Trae Cobb was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Taylor Lawler was 1-for-2 with a walk. Walker Aston was 0-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases.
Fletcher Holt earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing one earned run on two hits while walking two and striking out five.
Reagan Halter took the loss for Clarksburg, allowing six unearned runs on three hits while walking two and striking out one in five innings. Greysen Jones pitched the final two frames, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk.
