Rebels Thump Bradford, 13-3

McKENZIE (April 10) — McKenzie High School baseball hosted Bradford Friday evening. Two big innings sealed a 13-3 win for McKenzie in five frames.
The visiting Red Devils struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. The Rebels responded with seven in the home half. Bradford plated a run in the third, but McKenzie answered with five in the bottom half. The Rebels added one in the fourth.
Rebel Avery Brown was 1-for-3 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. Xander Johnsey was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Ace Brown was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Cole Brown was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Fletcher Holt was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Lelan Gordon was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Cooper Davidson was 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Maddox Shiell was 0-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Parker Ross was 0-for-3 with a run scored.
Red Devil Hayden White was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Brodie McDaniel was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Luke Clifton was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Alex Massey was 1-for-2 with a walk. Trevor Harrington was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Quacey Lewis was 0-for-0 with a walk.
Cooper Davidson earned the win for McKenzie, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking two and striking out one in four and a third innings. Hudson Garrett pitched the final two-thirds of an inning, allowing no runs, hits or walks.
Eli Leyhue took the loss for Bradford, allowing 12 runs (three earned) on eight hits while walking three and striking out one in two and a third innings. Hayden White pitched the final inning and two-thirds, allowing one earned run on three hits with no walks and one strikeout.
