McKenzie Rebels Crush Five Homers to Top Red Devils
From the Apr 15, 2025 e-EditionBRADFORD (April 11) — The McKenzie High School Rebels got the long ball working in a big road win Friday, 10-5, over the Bradford Red Devils. Five home runs, including two by Craegen Travis, highlighted two big innings that sealed the win for McKenzie.
Bradford struck first with a run in the bottom of the first, but McKenzie responded with six in the second and four in the fourth. The Red Devils plated two runs each in the fourth and fifth to round out the scoring.
Rebel Craegen Travis was 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Tate Surber went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Lelan Gordon hit 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. Maddox Shiell was 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Cole Brown went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored. Fletcher Holt was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Ace Brown went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Cooper Davidson was 1-for-4 with a double.
Red Devil Brodie McDaniel was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Carver Cates went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Gunner Skerrett was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jax Richardson was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Landon Hagan went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Fletcher Holt earned the win for McKenzie, allowing five earned runs on six hits while striking out three and walking none in five innings. Cooper Davidson threw two innings of relief, allowing no runs or hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Landon Hagan had the start for Bradford, allowing six earned runs on five hits while striking out three and walking none in an inning and a third. Austin Skerrett pitched five and two-thirds of relief, allowing four earned runs on six hits while striking out three and walking three.
