Rebels Top Tigers in Semifinal, 11-1

McEWEN (May 2) — The McKenzie High School Rebels traveled Friday to face the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers in the semifinal round of the District 12A Baseball Tournament. A fourth-inning grand slam by Fletcher Holt helped secure an 11-1 win by the Rebels.

Holt was 1-for-3 with a grand slam. Cole Brown went 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored. Tate Surber was 1-for-2 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. KD Cunningham went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Craegen Travis was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Xander Johnsey went 0-for-1 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored. Lelan Gordon was 0-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base.

Craegen Travis earned the complete-game win for McKenzie, allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out seven and walking none in five innings.
