Renaissance Presents ‘Newsies’ at The Dixie
From the Nov 4, 2025 e-Edition
Based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly - a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragtag band of teenage “newsies” who dream of a better life far from the hardships of the streets. When publishing titans raise the distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies his fellow newsies to fight for justice.
From the theatre troupe that brought you Phantom of the Opera, Anastasia, and A Christmas Carol; Newsies will be another example of Renaissance Theatre’s passion for what they do. Their incredibly talented students will shine as they take you to the streets of New York! With non-stop energy, unforgettable songs like “Seize the Day” and “Santa Fe”, and thrilling choreography, Newsies is a high octane Broadway smash that’s perfect for the whole family.
Don’t miss this inspiring story of standing strong, speaking up, and making headlines!
Dates and times for these performances are: November 7 at 7 p.m., November 8 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
