County Republicans Host Rally Saturday

HUNTINGDON (August 2) — Carroll County Republican Party held a rally on Saturday, August 2 at Sesquicentennial Park on Mustang Drive in Huntingdon. Several hundred party enthusiasts, politicians, and political candidates attended the event that was planned by the newly reorganized local party leadership.
In addition to local party leaders and politicians, attending were Congressman John Rose, a candidate for governor, Tennessee Representative Brock Martin (R-Huntingdon) and State Representative Tandy Darby (R-Greenfield), former State Representative Steve McDaniels, former State Representative Andy Holt, and featured speaker, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett.
Carroll County Republican Party Chairman Darrell Ridgely welcomed everyone to the rally and picnic.
Burchett spoke about the successes of the Trump administration, primarily through the Big Beautiful Bill. He noted the legislation will support farmers and the economy.
He said that God’s intervention caused Trump to turn his head during the assassination attempt. That turn of the head saved his life.
Following Burchett’s speech, the attendees enjoyed musical entertainment and a picnic lunch.
