From the Jun 17, 2025 e-EditionHUNTINGDON - Mrs. Rita Joyce Rowland, 82, of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services are in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at noon with Bro. Chase Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Sellers Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
Pallbearers who will serve are Josh Balentine, Nick Rowland, Jacob Ecker, Daniel Laws, Gabriel Laws and Malaki Balentine
Mrs. Rowland was born November 16, 1942, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to the late William L. Bates and Henryetta (Sawyer) Bates. She was a retired house manager for Easter Seals and a member of the Tabernacle of Living God in Milan for many years until she became homebound due to health issues. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Rowland, one daughter, Joyce Smith, one great-grandson, Atticus Finn Ecker, two sisters, Carol Saxon and Frances Gibbs, and two brothers, Ronnie Bates and Charles Bates.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Laws (Phillip), and Tammy Barnes (Chuck), a son, Bennie Rowland (Caroline). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Daniel Laws, Rachel Henry, Anna Click, Josh Balentine, Lori Dickinson, Ryan Balentine, Heather Pace, Jacob Ecker, Holly Presley, Nick Rowland, and Megan Rowland, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
