Robert Shaw Owen, 1955 – 2026
From the Mar 31, 2026 e-EditionRobert Shaw Owen, 71, of Gleason, Tenn., died March 25, 2026. Robert was born on February 22, 1955, to the late “R.H.” Bob Owen and Darreen Shaw Owen. He was a proud graduate of Gleason High School, Class of 1973. He lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, hard work, and the outdoors.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Reesa Teeter Owen of Gleason, TN; his sons, Robert Blaine Owen and wife Andi Turner Owen of Gleason, TN, and Kody Teeter Owen and wife Elizabeth Russell Owen of McKenzie, TN; and his four beloved grandchildren, Robert Wyatt Owen, Natalie Alexandrea Owen, Abbott Shaw Owen, and Reelynn Grace Owen. He is also survived by his brother, Eric Lyle Owen and wife Doris Deck Owen, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, “R.H.” Bob Owen and Darreen Shaw Owen, and his brother, Alan Craig Owen.
A lifelong farmer, Robert also had a passion for flying as a pilot. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who found great joy in the outdoors. In his younger years, he loved playing basketball for the Gleason Bulldogs and spent time drag racing, both of which reflected the energy and spirited nature he carried into the rest of his life. He proudly served as a Mason and was a member of the Board of the Bank of Gleason. More than anything, he loved spending time with family and friends—whether in person or on the phone—sharing stories, laughter, and wisdom.
Robert will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
Visitation was Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Brother Gene Price Officiated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Lodge of Gleason.
