Rockets End Season with Loss to Vikings
From the Mar 3, 2026 e-EditionLINDEN (February 28) —- Perry County High School hosted Clarksburg Saturday to open the Region 6-1A Boys Basketball Tournament. The Rockets trailed by just two points at the half, but the Vikings pulled away in the third for a 49-36 win.
The loss ends Clarksburg’s season.
The Vikings had a 7-6 edge after the first frame, led by Kooper Haston with three points. Landon Warren and Kenner Haston each had a pair. Weston Vestal scored all six Clarksburg points.
Perry County had a 10-9 advantage in the second quarter, led by Ke. Haston with seven points, including a three-pointer. Brody Lee also hit a three. Rockets Garrett Bartholomew and Jake Miller each hit a three-pointer. Trae Cobb had a pair, and Vestal hit a free throw. At the half, Perry County led 17-15.
The Vikings pulled away with a 19-9 tilt in the third, led by Lee and Ke. Haston with six points each, Lee with a three. Jake Mercer scored five with a three-pointer, and Warren added a pair. Reagan Halter hit a three for Clarksburg, and Cobb, Vestal and Bartholomew each added a pair. Heading into the final frame, the Vikings led 36-24.
Perry County sealed the win with a 13-12 fourth, led by Ke. Haston with seven points. Ko. Haston scored three points, and Mercer added a pair. Lee hit a freebie. Cobb scored six for the Rockets with a three-pointer. Vestal and Clay Glosson each had three points.
Viking Kenner Haston led all scorers with 22 points, including a three. Brody Lee scored ten with a pair of three-pointers.
Weston Vestal led Clarksburg with 12 points. Trae Cobb scored ten with a three-pointer.
