Rockets, Tigers Split Home-Away Set
From the Apr 21, 2026 e-EditionCLARKSBURG/BRUCETON (April 13-14) — The Clarksburg High School Rockets and Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers began the week with a home-away district baseball set. Monday, the Rockets hosted and claimed a 4-3 win on a late rally. Tuesday, the Tigers avenged the loss with a 5-0 home shutout.
Clarksburg Rockets 4, Central Tigers 3
Clarksburg struck first at home Monday with a run in the bottom of the third. Central tied it in the top of the fourth, then took a lead with a pair in the fifth. The Rockets cut the deficit to one with a run in the home half, then scored two in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win.
Rocket Walker Aston was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Trae Cobb was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Maddox Robbins was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Greysen Jones, Garrett Bartholomew and Reagan Halter were each 1-for-3.
Tiger Brody Huff was 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Gage Weatherly was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Tanner Walters was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Braxton Howard was 1-for-3. Dalton Howard was 0-for-3 with an RBI.
Trae Cobb earned the win for Clarksburg, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits while walking two and striking out eight in six innings. Jayden Reed pitched the final frame, allowing no runs, hits or walks.
Drake Hollingsworth took the complete-game loss for Central, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits while walking none and striking out seven.
Tigers 5, Rockets 0
Tuesday's game was scoreless through three innings until Central scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, then added four in the sixth.
Tiger Brayden Maness was 1-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Drake Hollingsworth was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Tanner Walters was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base. Parker Boyd was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Braxton Howard and Dalton Howard were each 1-for-3. Brody Huff was 0-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases.
Rocket Trae Cobb was 1-for-1 with two walks and a stolen base. Walker Aston was 1-for-3. Taylor Lawler and Samuel Wallace were each 0-for-2 with a walk.
Gage Weatherly earned the complete-game shutout for Central, allowing two hits while walking four and striking out eight.
Greysen Jones took the loss for Clarksburg, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits while walking one and striking out five in five innings. Jayden Reed threw the final frame, allowing one unearned run on one hit with no walks and one strikeout.
