McKenzie Rotary Hosts Charity Auction

The Rotary Club of McKenzie’s annual charity auction was Saturday, November 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Bethel’s Vera Lowe Center. Bethel generously provided the space for the live auction.

This year’s auction featured over 90 items from local businesses, ranging in value from $25 to thousands of dollars.

Proceeds from the auction allow the local service club to carry out many community service projects including donating warm jackets to foster children in Carroll County, hosting high school and middle school honor banquets, providing scholarships, supporting Girls and Boys State representatives, providing donations to various clubs and sports teams at McKenzie Schools and Bethel University, providing contributions to the McKenzie Memorial Library and United Neighbors, providing meals to local students in need and supporting the Rotary International Foundation.

Micky Stafford was the auctioneer for the event. He volunteers his professional services each year to benefit the local club. Several items were available at the silent auction table, while the larger, more valuable items were sold during the live auction.
