McKENZIE (May 14) — Members of the Rotary Club of McKenzie heard from Bethel University’s Global Studies program. Stacie Freeman, leader of Bethel University Global Studies, was the featured speaker. She thanked the club members for donating supplies for a service/learning trip to Guatemala, where Bethel students and community members, worked in elementary schools in Guatemala City. Travelers also visited Lake Atitlan, Antiqua, and San Juan.

Upcoming Bethel University trips include Italy, France, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil, Cuba, and London. Three hours of college credit are available for traveling, taking an online course related to the country, and then writing a capstone paper concerning the trip. High school and college students, as well as community members can participate in the trips. Monthly payment plans are available.

Global Citizen Adventure Corps is the travel company used by Bethel University. Freeman and Dr. Julie Hill are co-CEOs of the non-profit travel organization. For more information, contact Freeman at freemans@bethelu.edu or visit globalcitizenadventurecorps.org.
