McKenzie Rotary Recognizes Members as Paul Harris Fellows
From the Jun 11, 2024 e-Edition
McKENZIE (June 4) — The McKenzie Rotary continued its stellar year by recognizing 22 of its 45 members as Paul Harris Fellows. Those individuals were Reverend John Adams, Drew Beeler, Joseph Butler, Susan Dyer, Ryan Griffin, Reverend Rob Harris, Armand Hebert, Lauren Hickman, Reverend Dr. David Lancaster, Dennis Mack (posthumously), Andrea McReynolds, Ricky Price, Spiros Roditis, Brad Sam, Dr. Wayne Scott, James Terrell, Christy Williams, Ben Wolski, Ash Young, Ariel Young, Aurora B. Young and Janae Young.
To be named a Paul Harris Fellow, a $1,000 contribution has to be made in recognition of the member. Club President Jason R. Martin stated, “To be named a Paul Harris Fellow is the highest honor a Rotarian can bestow toward another Rotarian. It is the meritorious acts you have done in the community that lead you to becoming a Paul Harris Fellow.”
Past District Governor Bob Huffman was in attendance to help facilitate the ceremony. He added that when the fellowships first began, while it was a $1,000 contribution that value was closer to $10,000 in today’s time.
Each member was provided a certificate and pin signifying their acknowledgment. Martin told the members to wear their pins each day with pride and to continue the work of Rotary. He reminded them of Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self.”
Currently, the McKenzie Rotary Club has awarded 99 Paul Harris Fellows and donated over $110,000 to Rotary International.
