McKenzie Rotary Club Hears About West Tennessee Healthcare

McKENZIE (February 4) — Tina Prescott, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare, was the featured speaker for the McKenzie Rotary Club. In recent months, West Tennessee Healthcare began managing Henry County Hospital.
Prescott stated they are excited to work with Henry County Hospital as it has a rich history in the community. She added that since taking over the facility, West Tennessee Medical is working hard to make the hospital solvent and are addressing concerns about bring back the OB program.
Before being named President and CEO, Prescott served as the Chief Operating Officer of West Tennessee Healthcare, a public, not-for-profit health system with over 8,200 employees serving 22 counties and licensed for 1,262 hospital beds within the WTH system. Her Executive Vice President responsibilities included serving as the Chief Operating Officer and System Chief Nursing Officer for the healthcare system. Her oversight includes the flagship hospital, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, and six rural hospitals which includes, Bolivar Hospital, Camden Hospital, Milan Hospital, Dyersburg Hospital, Volunteer Hospital in Martin, TN and Henry County Hospital.
Prescott came to West Tennessee Healthcare in 1996 as a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She has held the positions of Clinical Manager and Director of SICU and Administrator of Camden General Hospital.
In 2007, she was named the Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She is active with several community and civic organizations including serving as a board member on the Greater Jackson Chamber, a member of the Jackson Rotary Club and Downtown Jackson Development Committee.
She is board certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Nurses Association and American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is a graduate of Union University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Business Administration.
The McKenzie Rotary Club meets on Tuesdays at noon in the Vera Low Center at Bethel University.
