Rural Fire Destroys Log Cabin

McKENZIE (May 4) — A log cabin, used as a hunting lodge, was completely destroyed Sunday evening on Seaboard Lane, McKenzie.
Located along a gravel road between McKenzie and Trezevant, the structure fire started in the chimney of the fireplace, said Jonathan Gaskins, Carroll County Fire Chief.
Carroll County Rural Fire Brigades from Stations 21, 16, 11, and 10 with mutual aid from McKenzie responded to the fire at 7:33 p.m. and remained on the scene for approximately two hours.
Chief Gaskins said the structure belonged to the Shoaf family.
