Local Schools Start in August
From the Jul 15, 2025 e-EditionLocal students are set to return from their short-lived summer break in early August, entering the first semester of the 2025-26 school year. Each school district has posted its school year calendar on its respective website. While most local schools follow similar calendars, there are several differences for each district.
All Carroll County schools will be in session beginning with a half day on August 5.
Weakley County schools begin on August 6.
Henry County opens the soonest, beginning with a half day on August 1.
All students will have a day off on September 1 for Labor Day.
Carroll County students are out of school on Friday, September 12.
Henry County students are out of school on Monday, September 22, for a parent-teacher conference.
Weakley County students will be dismissed at noon on Thursday, September 25, for a parent-teacher conference, which lasts from noon until 6 p.m.
This year, fall break is October 13 through 17 for all local schools.
McKenzie students are out of school on Thursday, October 23, for Data Day and a parent-teacher conference for the elementary and middle school.
Henry County students are out of school on Friday, October 31, for professional development.
Thanksgiving break is November 26 through 28.
Huntingdon and South Carroll students are out of school on Monday, December 1, for teachers’ professional development.
All local students have a half day on Friday, December 19, for the beginning of winter break. Students’ winter break lasts through Monday, January 5.
