Senator Stevens Speaks to Rotary

McKENZIE (July 16) — The McKenzie Rotary Club hosted State Senator John Stevens at Tuesday’s weekly meeting.
The senator gave an overview of Tennessee’s current conditions, noting a low tax burden, high bond rating, low energy costs and growth in small business.
He summarized recent legislative actions on the bail system, social media for minors, online pornography and education spending.
Stevens fielded questions from Rotarians about literacy and retention, childcare and cannabis regulation.
