From the Jun 3, 2025 e-Edition
McKENZIE — The McKenzie Station Splash Pad reopened on Tuesday, May 27 to the delight of area children. The water park and adjacent Harmony Park for musical entertainment and the picnic pavilion are all popular summer venues. The park is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
In the year 2022, the city earned an award from the Tennessee Municipal League Award for Small City Progress for its innovation in adding livability features to the city.
The city took a neglected green space that was the location of the first railroad depot and passenger train track in McKenzie and turned it into a splash pad reflecting the spot’s railroad history.
