Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet is Saturday
From the Apr 28, 2026 e-EditionThe Carroll County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet is Saturday, May 2 at 6 p.m.. Eight former Carroll County sports icons are to be inducted into the Class of 2026.
This year’s inductees are Wesley Beal, Jr., McKenzie High School, 1964; James Penn McKenzie, McKenzie High School, 1990; Amanda Renfroe, Clarksburg High School, 2008; Johnny Carter, Huntingdon High School, 1967; Andrea “Angie” Holder, Huntingdon High School, 1986; Johnnie Compton, Huntingdon High School, 1967; Murray Smith, Trezevant High School; and Alex Matlock, Hollow Rock–Bruceton Central High School, 2008.
The banquet will also honor two high school students from each of Carroll County’s five school districts as Carroll County High School Athletes of the Year.
High school honorees are Addison Milam and Trae Cobb from Clarksburg High School, Madison Holder and Seth Thomas from Hollow Rock–Bruceton Central High School, Broox Bennett and Caleb Ezell from Huntingdon High School, Charli Weatherford and Ryan Toombs from McKenzie High School, and Hailey Mitchell and Chandler Rimmer from West Carroll High School.
