It’s TCAP season across Tennessee, and students at West Carroll Elementary School recently took a more active approach to TCAP preparation by using a multiplication frisbee game to review math facts while staying physically engaged.

The activity replaced traditional worksheet practice with a team-based game that combined movement, problem-solving and multiplication fluency. Students tossed a frisbee back and forth while answering multiplication problems. Each successful catch prompted a question, and each correct answer allowed the team to continue play.

Teachers said the activity was designed to reinforce multiplication skills in a fun, low-pressure setting. The format encouraged students to stay focused, work together and practice math facts without the stress often associated with test preparation.

Throughout the lesson, students were seen cheering for classmates, celebrating correct answers and offering encouragement. The game also supported kinesthetic learners by incorporating movement into academic review.

In addition to strengthening multiplication fluency, the activity helped students build teamwork, communication and quick-thinking skills.
