State Designates Summer Months to Reflect on American Principles: Life, Liberty, Happiness
From the Jul 8, 2025 e-EditionIn recognition of America’s 250th birthday on July 2026, the General Assembly passed a resolution designating June, July and August as commemorative months to celebrate the nation’s core founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The designations are meant to inspire reflection, civic pride and renewed appreciation for America’s values.
June is now “Celebration of Life” Month, July is “Celebration of Liberty” Month and August is “Pursuit of Happiness” Month.
These are permanent designations, per the Tennessee General Assembly.
