Gleason’s Tater Town Special Concludes Week-Long Events

Gleason Gazelle’s annual Tater Town Special concluded Sunday. It includes games, barbecue contests, worship services, cake auctions, a 5K race, barbecue cooking contests, live music, sweet potato cook-off, parades, and a class reunion. Bethel University’s Renaissance helped kickoff the week’s event.

This year’s grand marshals were Eddie and Becky Trevathan. Joyce Wray was selected as the town treasure.

Junior Parade Winners:

Best Local Pride: 1st - Harlon Montgomery, Della Stafford and Mack Stewart; 2nd - Nate Pratt and Rhett Lemonds; and 3rd - Cinch Boane.
Best in Show: First - The Bennett Bunch; 2nd - Bronnor and Bridger Leo; and 3rd - Andrew and Alyssa Bruce.
Most Patriotic: First - Zane Hudlow; 2nd - Dawson Fuqua; and 3rd - Zoe Healy and Hayley Roberts.
Most Unique: Scott Boane.

Grand Parade Winners:

Most Original Float: First - EW James; 2nd - FBC Gleason; and 3rd (tie) Tumbling Creek Baptist Church and Tumbleweed’s Trading Post.
Most Beautiful Float: First - Gleason City Drug Store; 2nd - Dresden Senior Citizen Center; and 3rd - Bank of Gleason.
Community Spirit Award: First - Class of 1975; 2nd - Gleason Basketball Teams; and 3rd - Class of 1985.
