Gleason’s Annual Tater Town Special Begins August 27

Gleason Gazelle’s annual Tater Town Special Begins August 27. It includes games, barbecue contests, worship services, cake auctions, a 5K race, and parades.

This year’s grand marshals are Eddie and Becky Trevathan. Joyce Wray has been selected as the Tater Town Treasure. All activities are in the downtown area.

Activities include:

Wednesday, August 27
Youth Bingo and Devotional, Gazelle Grounds begins at 7 p.m. for Ages 4-17. Must attend devotion to play.

Thursday, August 28
Bingo and Cake Auction at the Gazelle Grounds, 7 p.m. for ages 18 and up. Cake Auction at 8 p.m.

Friday, August 30
Community BBQ and Sweet Potato Cook-Off (all ages), Sweet potato entries are due by 5 p.m. in the Cook Booth to be judged.

BBQ Cook-off gate opens at 5 p.m. at the Gazelle Grounds.

$10 Per Plate Live Music by Magnolia!

Saturday, August 30
JC Carey Memorial 5K Run, Register at 6:30 a.m. in front of the School with the race beginning at 7 a.m. $10 for students, $20 for adults.

9 a.m. — Junior Parade Registration (Gleason Lumber)

9 a.m. — Grand Parade Registration (American Legion)

10 a.m. — Grand Parade begins

Vendor Fair — Gazelle Grounds

Following the Parade til 2 pm. Vendors, Food Trucks, and Live Music by Midlife Crisis

Sunday, August 31
Community Worship Service at 11 a.m. at Gleason Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Gleason School Alumni Association: Welcomes all former GHS students to the annual reunion at the Gleason School, beginning at 2 p.m.
