Area Track & Field Athletes Make State Meet
From the May 12, 2026 e-EditionMEMPHIS (May 8) — Several McKenzie and Huntingdon track & field athletes reached the podium at the TSSAA Class A West Sectional Championship Meet at Halle Stadium Friday and qualified for the TSSAA Class A State Championship Meet on Tuesday, May 19 at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
McKenzie High School’s Abigail Wallace earned first place in the 1600-meter and 800-meter races and second in the 3200-meter.
The MHS 4x800-meter team of Wallace, Autumn Haywood, Bella Sass, Sophie Dameron and alternate Natalia Taylor finished third at the Sectional meet.
Huntingdon High School’s Kaylen Cary finished first in the Long Jump.
HHS runner Blaine Todd earned second place in the 3200-meter.
