Traffic Stop Leads to Drug, Weapons Arrest in Paris

PARIS (July 24) — A man was arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop on North Market Street on Friday, according to Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey.
Deputy Coltin Wyrick initiated a stop on Jason Mobley for operating a vehicle without a valid license. A subsequent search reportedly led to the discovery of approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, 15 grams of marijuana, $6,000 in cash, prohibited weapons and drug paraphernalia.
Mobley was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, simple possession of a Schedule VI substance, possession of prohibited weapons, driving without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held at the Henry County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Paris Police Department.
