Truck Strikes Vacant Building in Two-Vehicle Wreck

Graves County, Ky. (February 8) — McKenzie and Murray drivers were involved in a two-car accident in Graves County which resulted in one car striking a vacant building.

Sunday, February 8, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Graves County Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle, injury-collision, near the intersection of State Route 94 East and State Route 381.

Through the investigation, it was determined Nicholas Yaciuk, 45, of McKenzie, was traveling North on KY 381, in a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Mr. Yaciuk stopped at the stop sign and continued across KY 94 East. Mr. Yaciuk pulled into the path of Jerry Stark, 75, of Murray, Ky., who was traveling West on KY 94 East. After the initial impact, Mr. Stark struck a vacant building at the Northwest corner of the intersection with his truck.

Mr. Stark and his wife, Melisa Stark, 75, of Murray, Ky., were transported from the scene to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Yaciuk did not report any injuries at the scene.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Cuba Volunteer Fire Department, the Sedalia Volunteer Fire Department, and Mayfield-Graves County EMS.
