McKENZIE (November 26) — Two subdivisions were approved by the McKenzie Municipal-Regional Planning Commission on Wednesday, November 26.

The first subdivision is known as the Deerwood Hills Subdivision, owned by Marvin Alexander of Martin. Mr. Alexander, a real estate broker and auctioneer, purchased 14.887 acres that fronts Como Street and backs up to McKenzie City Park. The Commission approved the residential development of five land parcels along Como Street from Joy Drive nearly to the pickleball courts. Daniel Mueller recently constructed two homes on parcels adjacent to the pickleball court.

Alexander has additional parcels to develop in the rear of the property.

The property was once owned by the Moore family, for which Moore Subdivision was named. The McKenzie City Park was part of the Moore farm.

The second minor subdivision was approved for Daniel and Amber Mueller along Kencindot Street. They plan to construct three homes along Kencindot on property recently purchased from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4939. The land is located at the intersection of Kencindot and Cherrywood.
