Vintage Baseball Teams to Play at Parkers Crossroads

PARKERS CROSSROADS — The Parkers Crossroads Battlefield Park hosts the second home game of the Resolute of Jackson Vintage Base Ball Club at noon on Saturday, August 8. The game will be played on the southeast corner of the battlefield at the intersection of Wildersville Road and Highway 22. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Join the Resolute of Jackson as they continue their inaugural season on the Parkers Crossroads Battlefield, looking for their first win as a member of the Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball. The Resolute will face the Quicksteps of Spring Hill in an exciting contest played under authentic Civil War-era rules.

Experience baseball as it was played in the 1860s—wooden bats only, no gloves, no spittin’, no cussin’ and no slidin’! Players compete using the customs and sportsmanship of the era, providing an entertaining and educational look at America’s pastime.

Spectators and prospective future ball-ists are warmly welcomed. The Resolute is always looking for new players interested in learning and participating in vintage base ball.

Limited shade and seating will be available. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and portable shade for use in designated spectator areas.
